Spongebob is in a whole LAVA trouble. Spongebob is rocking out at bikini bottom. Yeaaah!!!

Kris Wimberly's blog-o-log

So I was approached to write a blog. Boy, was I excited! I thought to myself, “Self! This is a very important milestone in your life. This is what all your weight training and rigorous double-dutch practicing has been for! This is your time to shine! People are counting on you! Lives are at stake here! The fate of existence of ice cream rests on your shoulders and how well you write this blog!”

Now, if you thought that fazed me, you’re wrong. I was as cool as a sea cucumber. The only challenge was deciding what to write my blog about. So I started to think of things: “Hmm… perhaps I should write about giant foil balls… or maybe what I got for my eighth birthday… or maybe what socks smell like…” But then, from far left of Jellyfish Fields, it came to me!

“What would I want to read about if I was still the dude on your side of this computer screen?”

Well, the answer is quite simple really. I’d want to know, “What is it like working with my cartooning heroes?!” So, for this blog, I’d like to tell you folks what it’s like working in the best cartoon studio ever with the most talented and funny people the fast food industry has to offer!

As you can probably imagine, around here, people don’t dress like they do at your mom’s office. No sir. When you work with cartoons all day, the dress code is more like working with your Uncle Leroy at the local sporting goods store. You never know when you’ll have to wrangle an Alaskan Bull Worm, take interpretive dance lessons, or deliver a tray of greasy Krabby Patties. So, wearing a three-piece suit is out.
Also, these are some of the funniest people you could ever meet! See, you’d think that since we’re all adults here, we maintain a strict diet of iced mocha double latte frappuccinos and the news. But no. Around here, we keep a healthy balance of cake and hard work… and video games! Many of us believe that “in order to make a successful cartoon, one must live like a cartoon.” So, it’s not at all impossible to go through the day without seeing Derek Iversen riding his bike past your office door. Or Vince Waller bursting out with funny cartoon voices in the middle of a meeting. Or Dani Michaeli holding a riveting conversation about comic books!

And working at a place like this, you’re able to come across more creativity than you’d know what to do with! Honestly, where else can you find an office decorated like Steve Downs’ Tiki hut? Where can you find post-its all over the place of Kenny Pittenger’s drawings making fun of Derek? And, really, where can you find a 20-foot cardboard cutout of SpongeBob’s butt?? Nowhere but here. That’s where!

I’m sure you’re probably busting at the seams trying to wrap your head around how exciting it must be like to work here at the Nicktoons studio. Seriously, I can’t even handle it myself sometimes! And what’s even more fascinating is that this talented team has been at it for ten years! With a group like this, it’s not hard to see more spongy hilarity coming to the TV in your pineapple for ten more years!
