When Holly is 16, her father takes a job in Japan and she moves in with her straight-laced sister Valerie in New York City. Val finally has both a great career and a great boyfriend in a carefully organised life on the Upper West Side when Holly moves in and tries to become a part of her sister's fabulous life.
Holly
When her dad moves to Japan, Holly (played by Amanda Byrnes) must move in with her older sister Valerie and thus the two girls become roommates in New York City. Holly's a teenage livewire which puts their relationship to the test!
Gary
Gary is Holly's best friend. He's incredibly supportive of her new move. He's kind funny but in desperate need of a girlfriend!
Lauren
Lauren is Val's (played by Jennie Garth) employee in the public relations firm and is considered part of the extended family.
Tina
Tina is Holly's loyal friend and together with Gary the three from a solid friendship.
Valerie
Valerie (played by Jennie Garth) is Holly's older sister, who agrees to let Holly move in with her when their dad moves to Japan. She runs her own public relations firm. The friendship between the two sisters only gets stronger now they are room mates
